Rare beautifully restored 1970 Ford 302 Mustang Convertible, Automatic with Power Steering. Finished in Metallic Electric Blue with contrasting Pearl White 302 Racing Stripes, blue trim and a surf blue power operated soft top with hood bag. Completed at the Dearborn plant in the USA on the 27th. February 1970 this is the rarest of all the classic Mustang’s being one of only 6199 convertibles produced in that year. It was shipped to the UK in early 1973 and has had 3 owners.
he car has undergone lots of restoration and was part of a small, quality private collection. Chrome spoked wheels, a deep chin spoiler, bonnet scoop and rear wing vents, plus an optional special feature chrome roll bar with 4 blue chrome spotlights in the style of the car driven by Pierce Brosnan in the film remake of The Thomas Crown Affair, which are not shown in most photos but can be easily fitted or removed, but are a nice addition should the car be exhibited at classic car events.
A noted British engine builder has rebuild the engine with period performance parts Holley & Cobra etc. as well as detail the engine bay to show winning standards at a cost of £6000. The overall condition including the underside of the car is very good condition with lovely paintwork and a really nice interior with over-matts and wood rimmed steering wheel. She also drives and handles incredibly well and the performance pipes sound awesome. The Mustang also comes with invoices and MOT file, factory build record and owners manual. The car is currently on UK plates but located in Marbella Spain, so could be easily transported back to the UK or registered on Spanish Historic Plates. I have contacts to do either.
This is a stunning Classic Muscle Car and the pride of my small collection, stands out from the crowd at all the classic car events I attend. However, I need to sell one of my treasures to raise funds, so I can purchase a new race car for next season.
